Wade Gilley, shown on left, with one of my favorite Fries High School teachers, Carolyn Bartlett Lyons, with her husband Don.  Dr. Gilley has served as the President of a community college, a state college, and two major universities.  He also served as the Virginia Secretary of
Education. He has written a couple of outstanding books on growing up in Fries.
