H. Douglas Turner is the kind of person I like to think personifies the Fries Spirit. He overcame a very humble childhood to graduate from Wake Forest University with a law degree. He has served the people of this area as a lawyer and a substitute judge. From sending money to struggling college students (myself being one) to funding a family suite at the local hospital, Doug has always been true to his roots, and his contributions to Fries and surrounding areas have been immeasurable.
